XF-009: The Subtle Encounter with the Shadow Figure in a Dim Apartment Hallway

In a brief but striking CCTV recording labeled XF-009, a stable, featureless black humanoid silhouette known as the Shadow Figure glides slowly through an ordinary apartment corridor, offering a rare glimpse of this enigmatic paranormal presence.

How the encounter began

The Shadow Figure is classified as a paranormal entity characterized by a narrow humanoid form with a solid opaque black head that reveals no discernible facial features. Its silhouette is matte and uniformly light-absorbing, marked only by a small notch along the left shoulder contour. Its movements are a deliberate slow glide, preserving physical occlusion and perspective, and it inhabits dimly lit environments such as corridors, warehouse aisles, basements, and stairwells. This entity has been noted repeatedly for its quiet, unhurried passage through human interiors where light is scarce.

The recording

Captured on a 12-second continuous CCTV recording inside a dimly lit apartment hallway, the footage begins with an empty corridor. Shortly after, the Shadow Figure appears, its matte-black form contrasted against the nondescript walls and floor of the hallway. Maintaining a consistent pace, it crosses the corridor without disrupting the environment’s physical realism. The figure’s presence is subtle, avoiding any sudden appearances or dramatic effects. Its passage ends as it moves through a standard doorway, leaving the frame as inconspicuously as it entered. No secondary cameras or added cinematic elements intervene; the recording preserves a genuine CCTV perspective with typical camera noise and no visual manipulation.

Connection to the case file

The Shadow Figure’s appearance in such settings suggests it frequents transitional, often overlooked interior spaces where artificial light is minimal and human activity intermittent. The entity’s distinct lack of facial features combined with its uniform silhouette implies a form that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, contributing to its otherworldly aura. The notch on its left shoulder is a unique identifier distinguishing this specific manifestation. Its movement—slow and deliberate—contrasts with typical human gait, enhancing its unsettling yet non-threatening impression. The footage’s static viewpoint respects the continuity of spatial relationships, making the encounter feel both personal and plausible within the entity’s defined habitat.

What remains unexplained

What is the origin or nature of the Shadow Figure’s light-absorbing form? Does its presence signify anything beyond mere passage through human spaces? How does it interact, if at all, with the environments it moves through, and could it be detected by means other than visual surveillance? Finally, could further study of its subtle identifying markers, like the left shoulder notch, reveal variations or patterns among similar entities?
