Shadow Figure XF-009 — Video 002: XF-009 — Shadow Figure — Apartment Hall — Campaign 284

Entity: XF-009 — Shadow Figure

Unexplained Shadow Figure Glides Through Dim Apartment Hallway in CCTV Footage

A brief but eerie encounter captured by an apartment hallway CCTV shows a slow-moving, featureless black silhouette traversing a dim corridor, raising questions about the nature of this shadowy apparition.

How the encounter began

Known as the Shadow Figure, this entity is characterized as a uniform, matte black humanoid silhouette void of any facial features. It consistently appears in low-light human environments such as basements, stairwells, warehouse aisles, and apartment corridors. The Shadow Figure’s distinctive traits include a small notch along its left shoulder and a steady, deliberate gliding movement, maintaining physical perspective and occlusion as it crosses its surroundings. These features make it recognizable across multiple reported encounters, often appearing unexpectedly in areas monitored by security cameras.

The recording

The footage from case XF-009, video 002, comes from a continuously running hallway CCTV within an apartment building. Over the course of 12 seconds, the camera captures a narrow humanoid figure slowly gliding across an empty corridor. The scene begins empty—quiet, dimly lit, and unchanging—before the Shadow Figure gradually appears, moving smoothly through the frame. The figure’s head is a solid opaque black oval, entirely featureless, and its silhouette absorbs light uniformly without reflection or texture. Its movement is deliberate and calm, maintaining consistent scale and depth cues throughout the walk. The encounter concludes as the figure passes through an ordinary doorway, disappearing from sight in a manner consistent with normal spatial geometry rather than any sudden or supernatural disappearance.

Connection to the case file

The Shadow Figure is classified as a paranormal entity due to its unnatural appearance and motion in human indoor settings. It exhibits no sharp facial or bodily details, presenting instead as a stable, light-absorbing silhouette that seems to merge subtly with its dark environment. Its preferred habitats—dim, confined, or transitional spaces like corridors and basements—suggest an affinity for liminal zones. The figure’s slow, gliding locomotion and physical integration with the environment, seen without cinematic effects or edits, lend credibility to its eerie presence rather than framing it as a mere optical illusion or digital artifact.

What remains unexplained

What is the true nature of this Shadow Figure? Does it represent a type of interdimensional presence, a manifestation tied to human perception in low light, or an as-yet-unknown natural phenomenon? Why does it favor dim, enclosed spaces and move with such controlled, gliding motion? Could the small notch along its left shoulder provide clues to its origin or function? Further observational data and controlled recordings may shed light on these persistent mysteries.
